Just last week, Kahiki Foods put together its company-wide
annual safety training. Instead of trotting out the same old workbooks and
PowerPoint presentations, the team makes this annual training fun with the
Forklift Rodeo! After an opening presentation from President Darcy Zbinovec,
the team split off into several groups to perform various activities like
getting a t-shirt out of a block of ice to promote teamwork or making a peanut
butter and jelly sandwich with one arm to teach about the importance of safety.
The day culminates in a test of skill and dexterity with the Forklift Rodeo, a
timed obstacle course where drivers must navigate around pallets without
dropping a plastic. It was fun day that people here are still talking about.
