To promote safe practices during the holidays, Kahiki put
together a Halloween contest for the team. Associates were asked to submit
their best ideas for keeping the kids safe during Trick-Or-Treating. This is
what we came up with:
•
Decorate costumes and bags with reflective tape or
stickers and is possible use light colors.
•
Have kids use flashlights or glow sticks to help them
be seen by drivers.
•
Cross the street at corners, using traffic signals and
crosswalks.
•
Look left, right and left again when crossing, keep
looking as you cross.
•
Put electronics devices down and keep heads up and
walk, don’t run, across the street.
•
Teach children to make eye contact with drivers before
crossing in front of them.
•
Watch for cars that are turning or backing up. Teach
children to never dart out into the street or cross between parked cars.
•
Check all candy before letting your children eat it to
be sure it is safe and not tampered with.
